Everyone's talking about how will AI effect work, but it feels like it hasn't really changed our day-to-day lives yet as consumers.

Most of us have one extra app on our phone. That's about it. The way we shop, book and organise our lives looks the same as it did two years ago, for most.

This will change, maybe just not yet. But Meta's new product, Muse, is one to watch.

In China, a website is a shop window. People browse there, then buy inside two or three super apps that handle flights, taxis, food and work in one place. The West has been trying to build that for years.

Meta might be the closest. It has Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, and I already run half my personal life and work through WhatsApp.

Muse isn't revolutionary on features - it’s just another personal AI agent. A lot of the stuff it can do I’ve been getting Claude to book restaurants, save me money and summarise my inbox for a while, but the difference is access.

Meta already knows who you are, and the barrier to entry is almost zero - the  winning agent doesn't need to be the smartest. It just needs to be the easiest to use and potentially one which is already in your pocket.

Muse held the No. 1 spot on Apple's US App Store free chart all weekend into Monday, overtaking ChatGPT with 730K+ downloads in its first 10 days - will be interesting to see how it unfolds and if it's a fad or this product hits and sticks.

We talked about this and a lot more in the world of AI & Advertising in our recent news update on The Prompt & The Pitch with Sean Halpin
