I asked an AI to book me a restaurant yesterday.
Blacklock, Soho, 7pm, first available Thursday.
Then I sat back and watched.
It opened OpenTable and found the first Thursday was full, so it tried the second. Found a slot, entered my details, and then hit the email verification wall.
I thought that was it. Game over.
Instead, it opened my inbox, found the verification email, copied the code, went back to OpenTable, pasted it in, and booked the table. Confirmation received. I didn't touch a thing.
This isn't a demo or a concept video. This is what I did yesterday, on my laptop, with tools anyone can access right now.
We are standing at an industrial revolution scale shift and most people are still debating whether AI can write a decent email. Meanwhile, I'm watching an agent handle multi-step tasks that require context switching, problem solving, and accessing multiple systems.
I've never been so excited. I've never been so optimistic. I've never been so scared.
The same tools that booked that table are letting me rebuild my app Firepit faster, better, and cheaper than before. I'm building products I couldn't have imagined a year ago despite not being technical at all. I have an AI coach, an AI calendar, an AI dashboard that helps me across every part of my life (yes I should probably go outside and touch some grass - but holding off until Summer I think haha).
One person is now a team.
I know AI can be seen as a dirty word, but the reality is: nobody actually wants to book restaurants. We just want these things handled so we can show up and be present, so the dinner actually makes it out of the group chat and into real life.
That's what this unlocks. Less time on admin. More time for the things that matter. More space for free thinking, for creativity, for genuine human connection.
Over the next few weeks, I'm going to try and share exactly how I'm using these tools to hopefully help some of you understand how these tools can be used across your day to day life & to open your eyes to what is now possible.
Humans are incredible at seeing change late and explaining it beautifully.
Foresight looks like paranoia until it looks like prophecy.
