Is AI better?
Instead of asking “Is AI better?,” we should ask:
“Better for what?”
A bedtime story for a child? AI might suffice.
A novel that redefines a genre? Human authorship still reigns.
“Better for who?”
A publisher optimising SEO-driven content? AI.
A reader seeking radical vulnerability? Human.
AI excels at pattern recognition. Humans excel at pattern breaking.
The gap isn't technical. It's experiential.
AI knows that heartbreak appears in literature 2.7 million times.
A human knows how heartbreak tastes at 3am.
One processes language. The other has lived it.
AI counts patterns. Humans create meaning.
AI optimises for clarity. Humans optimise for feeling.
AI produces content. Humans produce contact.
So maybe we're asking the wrong question entirely.
Instead of "Is AI better?" try:
What problem are you solving?
Who are you solving it for?
Does it need efficiency or empathy?
AI is better at being AI.
Humans are better at being human.
The trick is knowing when you need which.
