In 1966, school children imagined life in the year 2000.

What they feared… we’re now living.

Their answers were surprisingly accurate in some areas. They envisioned a world ruled by machines, where people became numbers, jobs vanished due to automation, and life felt… empty.

Granted, they saw the future through a more glass-half-empty lens. But as all things AI continue to come into our lives at a pace we've never seen before in a technological revolution, it does give us an opportunity to reflect on what matters.

Nearly a century ago, Charlie Chaplin delivered a line, which is more urgent now than ever:

"More than machinery, we need humanity; more than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.”

As Leo Burnett said, “At the end of the day, we are just people talking to people”.

The tools we use to communicate may be changing, but the connection we should make with people remains the same.

AI, Algorithms and Data sometimes make us lose the human element of advertising.

If we lose this, we lose our humanity.

No matter how much technology advances, we are still human beings with human needs.

Connection. Empathy. Kindness.

Without these qualities, our machines are empty shells.

We cannot forget the importance of humanity in all that we do.

Because without it, all the tech in the world still won't get us very far.
