A media agency must remember why it was formed.

Not to optimise the familiar, but to interpret change on behalf of those who cannot see it yet.

The greatest threat is not new platforms, new tools, or new competitors. It is operating today as if yesterday’s advantage still applies.

A media agency that romanticises old buying models will lose to one that builds new operating systems.

Negotiation alone is not a moat. Neither is access. Nor is precedent.

Advantage now comes from learning faster than competitors and acting before certainty arrives.

The agencies that survive this will be the ones least sentimental about how they work.

Test budgets that are mandatory. Measurement that rewards learning as much as outcomes. Failure thats fast and cheap, before it turns slow and expensive.

You cant ask people to innovate while protecting every legacy process. That isnt discipline. Its denial.

Culture is whether a brave media idea survives your planning cycle, or gets killed by an efficiency metric before it ever meets the real world.

The market doesnt reward heritage. It rewards relevance, renewed daily.

Hold onto the purpose. Release everything else.
