Studies are uncovering a painful truth: loneliness is not just an uncomfortable feeling, it’s a severe threat to our mental and physical health.

Why is it that despite being more connected than ever through technology, so many of us feel… disconnected?

Researchers found that people who lack social connections are three times more likely to catch a virus and their risk of deadly illnesses skyrockets.

This isn’t just about a few lonely individuals. It’s a society-wide problem.

Disconnection is causing waves of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. And the science is clear, our mental health depends on our connections with each other.

But here’s the hopeful part: when we reconnect, we feel better.

When we’re seen, valued, and connected, we thrive.

Connection is as vital as any medicine.

This is why we’re building Firepit.

An app designed to create deeper connections to the people around you, through meaningful conversations.

Technology should unite us, not divide us.

Firepit is an anti-app.

Success for us is less time spent on the app, and more time spent having conversations which matter.

It’s about reclaiming our time and rediscovering what it means to be human.

We need to rethink what it means to connect in the digital age.

We weren’t made to scroll—we were made to connect.

Last week I posted the initial announcement video.

The moment we've been working towards is finally here, our web app is live!

This is version 1. We’ll be looking to launch in the app store early next year.

But the purpose of the app is there, to facilitate meaningful and interesting conversations.

Give it a go today and light that spark: www.thefirepit.app

Feedback at this stage is massively appreciated, the good, but more importantly the bad, this will help shape the direction we take both the product and brand.
