Amazon Prime Video & Mr Beast have just announced what is set to be the biggest game show of all time.
With a $5 million prize pot and 1000 contestants, Mr Beast has said this will be bigger than any of his previous YouTube videos.
The partnership is a win-win for both parties, with Mr Beast having a proven formula to achieve hundreds of millions of views, bringing new eyes to Prime Video, while Amazon can give Mr Beast a production budget at a scale he’s never had before.
Ultimately Mr Beast picked Prime Video as they were willing to take a risk and give him full creative freedom.
This may seem a gamble right now by Amazon, but in a year I wouldn’t be surprised to see many streaming services realise this was a lost opportunity.
Platforms are always trying to find and produce the very best content, and Mr Beast understands this process like nobody else, making 150m views per video an exact science, rather than a viral moment.
The internet has created the ability for anyone in the world to build their community, reaching millions at the click of a button.
Mr Beast has taken it to a scale we’ve not seen, building a media empire that continues to break records and reach new heights.
And interestingly, sticking to his roots, the first episode will be also aired on YouTube, using this as an opportunity to get more people coming over to Prime Video.
Mr Beast is an innovator not just in content creation, but in media distribution.
Prime Video has taken a bet which a lot of other streaming platforms were too scared to do.
If the show lives up to the hype and is indeed the biggest game show in history, it’ll be a risk that pays off for Prime Video and the start of many more creator and streaming partnerships.
