With the countdown to Christmas officially on, this time last year 43% of Brits had still not finished their Christmas shopping, with 4% admitting they were yet to buy anything.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, it is Men who are more likely to be the last-minute Christmas shoppers.
If you are one of the last-minute shoppers, which by some miracle this year I'm not, a jumper may well be a safe bet as a gift, with nearly nine in ten Brits who celebrate Christmas (88%) saying they’d be happy to receive one as a gift.
The worst gift you could give appears to be a Handkerchief, once a gift-giving staple at this time of year, sitting at the bottom of YouGov’s list, with 59% of Britons celebrating Christmas saying they would be unhappy to receive one.
Although more important than gifts, is spending time with loved ones, 95% of Britons who celebrate Christmas say spending time with family is the most important aspect of the festivities.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, hopefully, this is a time of year when you can take some time off work, relax, and spend time with family and friends, while looking ahead to the new year.
I wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. I personally am looking forward to some time off, and to new challenges in 2024.
