Steve Jobs's vision for the future was unmatched.

This video perfectly illustrates that.

“There’s no such thing as headphones for video… until someone invents it, there’ll be opposing constraints”

The day has finally come again when the world is talking about a new Apple innovation.

The Apple Vision Pro.

Seamlessly blending digital content with your physical space.

The headphones for video.

The headset is undoubtedly a thing of beauty and has user cases which could change day to day lives as we know it.

But, it’s nowhere near mainstream adoption.

For this to truly happen there are a few things which need to improve; cost, technological improvement, as well as a killer app and cultural acceptance to name a few.

In 1984 when Apple introduced the first ever personal computer with a mouse, the Lisa, at $10,000, most could not afford it.

Just 8.2% of US households owned a personal computer.

In 2023, it’s 93.3%. Mainstream adoption did not happen overnight.

A future with AR is profound, if you’re a doctor, imagine having real-time guidance in surgeries with 3D imaging, an architect, able to visualise their projects in the real world, or a teacher, building an immersive experience for students in a history lesson.

We haven't even scratched the surface of what Augmented Reality technology is capable of.

It'll change how we work, live, and play in ways we can't yet imagine.

While this is exciting, it does make you question the future we have in place when everything is digital.

I was camping in Wales the other week, I didn’t need an iPhone, headset or Wi-Fi connection.

I disconnected and was present in the moment, technology will never be able to advance this, only hinder it.

In the comments, I’ve included the link to the original Steve Jobs video, I’ve also included an equally captivating video around the Apple Headset, but for all reasons opposite to the first.

It creates a daunting picture of what could well be our future.

Are we creating a Ready Player One world for ourselves?

The line between virtual and real life is fading.

But our need as humans, for creativity, genuine relationships, and meaningful conversations will never be lost.

In a world full of AR, VR, and AI, we need to stay human.
